Maserati custom-made tyres from Pirelli

Always together on both track and road.

A spirit of intense collaboration has linked Pirelli and Maserati for a long time, in both the racing world and production sphere: a collaboration that has played an important part in shaping the sporting tradition of Pirelli tyres. Juan Manuel Fangio is the greatest ambassador for the Pirelli-Maserati partnership: the Pirelli-clad 250F driven by the Argentinian won the 1957 World Championship, thus repeating the feat already achieved in 1954. After the F1® Championships of the 50s, the oil crisis of the 70s and its long-term negative effect on prestige cars, it was in the new century that Maserati would rise once more. Its participation in racing was a natural step and it was in this way, side by side with Pirelli, that the Trofeo Maserati was created. The DNA of the Maserati-Pirelli pairing led to the FIA-GT Championship.
The irreplaceable experience gained in racing is still the light that guides the technologies of these two prestigious Italian brands.

2018

For their MY18, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio fit an updated version of P ZERO™ tyres in 20" marked (MGT).

2016

Maserati’s first ever SUV model, the Levante, comes from the factory with a choice of summer tyres: Pirelli P ZERO™ or all-season tyres: Scorpion Verde™ All Season. Rim diameters range from 18” to 21”.

2013

The Maserati Ghibli introduces a mid-size sedan to the range, shod with specially developed Pirelli P ZERO™ from 18” to 21” with the brand’s OE marking: (MGT). The same tyres are used on the sixth generation Quattroporte.

2007

The Maserati GranTurismo revives a historic model name for the brand, boasting the brand new Pirelli P ZERO™ in 19” or 20”. It is followed two years later by the GranCabrio and a sportier MC Stradale with the Pirelli P ZERO™ Corsa System.

2004-2009

The Maserati MC12 chalks up wins in the FIA-GT Championship, where Pirelli is a technological partner with the racing versions of the P ZERO™.

2003

The fifth generation Maserati Quattroporte is introduced at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show with a choice of 18” or 19” P ZERO™ Rosso. The restyling in 2008 offered an additional 20” option.

2002

The Maserati Coupé replaces the 3200GT, dropping the bi turbo in favour of a normally aspirated V8, with an optional F1-like CambioCorsa gearbox. Homologated tyres are the recently introduced P ZERO™Rosso.

1970

With the Maserati Ghibli come the new low-profile “barra 70” Cinturato™ CN73 and CN12.

1961

From the track to the road: this is new Cinturato™ technology mounted on the new Maserati 3500 GT coupé and spider.

1954-1957

Juan Manuel Fangio becomes double World Champion with the Maserati 250F and the Pirelli Stelvio.

1933
