Precision, intuition and power: here is the Ducati crossover with a racing soul

Home Road Motorcycles The Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, the sportiest bike ever

The new Multistrada V4 by Ducati is called the Pikes Peak. It is no coincidence that the name recalls the legendary American time trial, also referred to as the “Climbing up to the clouds” (and, looking at the peak that stands out against the sky at an altitude of 4,300 metres above sea level, you can easily understand why). The new V4 is in fact the sportiest Multistrada ever and, driven by the 170 HP V4 Granturismo, it is the perfect motorbike to dominate all mountain hairpin bends, and more…

Just like the Multistrada V4, but sportier

In addition to embodying the essence of sportsmanship in the dual Ducati family, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is also the most powerful model in the entire crossover segment. Top performance, reduced weight, easy ride and comfort are just some of the staple highlights of the Multistrada V4 family. Underpinned by these cornerstones, the new V4 Pikes Peak was developed by introducing modifications in terms of cycling technology, ergonomics and electronic controls, as well as a series of dedicated components, for a decidedly sportier attitude than the Multistrada V4.

Pirelli tyres and cycling technology

The substantial difference with the standard Multistrada comes from the cycling sector, developed around the 17” rim at the front. The original equipment includes Pirelli Diablo Rosso™ IV tyres, with a sporty allure, which afford maximum performance levels on the road, both on dry and wet surfaces, and are fitted to Marchesini aluminium forged rims, which are lighter than those on the Multistrada V4 S. The Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension is also making its début on a model from the Multistrada family, enhancing the performance in the auto sports ride mode by adapting to the rider's particular driving style. The braking system is also top of the range.

Truly one of a kind

A revolutionary choice for the crossover segment and devised completely out of the box. The models in the Multistrada family are traditionally equipped with touring type tyres, focused on mileage and comfort, such as the Pirelli Scorpion Trail II or the Scorpion Rally™ STR. The Multistrada Pikes Peak is the first model in the dual Ducati family to be adorned with the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV super sports tyres as its original equipment. These tyres contribute fully to the achievement of the bike's challenging performance targets.

A design... for racing

The design of the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is also based on that of the V4 Multistrada family, incorporating it with the two elements that most distinguish the Pikes Peak version in terms of aesthetic styling and functionality: the 17” front wheel and the single-sided swingarm. The racing soul of the bike is enhanced by the new “Pikes Peak” livery, inspired in both colours and graphics by the Desmosedici GP'21, with number-bearing tables drawn on both sides of the tank, which accentuate the bond with the world of competitions.

Powerful engine and state-of-the-art technologies

The V4 Granturismo is the most powerful engine in its class: 170 HP and a peak torque of 125 Nm at 8750 rpm. One of the new features is the Race Map in Riding Mode, a first for a V4 Multistrada. The result? A more racing-based strategy for the limiter and a more effective sporty ride in terms of gear shifts at high revs. The electronic gearbox also has a dedicated strategy that allows for very aggressive shifts. The Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak also inherits from the Multistrada V4 S the standard radar technology both at the front and at the rear, which enables the Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection functions.
