Pirelli has been voted “All Season Manufacturer of theYear 2024/'25”

The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 has been crowned the winner in its category by Auto Bild's comprehensive tests, solidifying its position as the top all season tyre of 2024

Home Road Cars Tyres Pirelli has been voted “All Season Manufacturer of theYear 2024/'25”

The prestigious German automotive magazine, Auto Bild, has awarded the Cinturato All Season SF3 top honours in its category after rigorous testing of nearly 60 all season tyres. According to Auto Bild, 'whether you're driving a sports car or an SUV, the Cinturato All Season SF3 delivers exceptional handling, safety, and as an added bonus, low rolling resistance'.

The Cinturato All Season SF3

The Cinturato All Season SF3, engineered specifically for urban drivers demanding year-round safety, has been perfected using advanced virtual development techniques. Its stand-out feature is exceptional braking performance in diverse weather. Starting with wet conditions, every size in the range has achieved the highest rating of 'Class A' for wet grip on the European label. These tyres deliver outstanding performance, not only in snow (as certified by the 3PMSF marking, which is exclusively awarded to tyres passing rigorous winter tests), but also on dry roads, where they offer levels of stability, acoustic comfort, and rolling resistance comparable to summer tyres.

The accolades

The Cinturato All Season SF3's exceptional performance has been lauded by numerous certification bodies and specialised publications. Starting with the sporty German publication 'Auto Bild Sportcars', which highlighted its resistance to aquaplaning and excellent handling on straights and curves. It was also voted Tyre of the Year by the Italian magazine 'alVolante', which praised its braking performance on both wet and dry surfaces. This versatility has been recognised by both TÜV SÜD, which awarded the Pirelli tyre its Performance Mark, and Dekra, which specifically mentioned the Cinturato All Season SF3 for its braking performance.

In Tyre Reviews' comparative test, the Cinturato All Season SF3 achieved the highest scores across a wide range of conditions, including dry, wet, snowy, and icy roads.

Adaptive tread

The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 features adaptive 3D sipes technology, ensuring exceptional grip on snow throughout the tyre's entire life span. As the tread wears, these sipes change shape, transitioning from straight lines to a zigzag pattern. This increases the surface area that can grip snow, even as the overall tread depth decreases. The adaptive design is also reflected in the mobility of the sipes: under the high stress exerted between the tyre and the road surface, whether dry or wet, they have the ability to close and compact, transforming the tread from a winter-like, siped pattern to a more rigid, summer-like tread. This enhances braking performance, road holding, and steering precision. Wider grooves and sharper angles in the directional tread pattern, compared to the previous generation, contribute to improved performance on snow.

Last but not least, these specific features also aid in water evacuation, reducing the risk of aquaplaning on wet roads.

Born in the virtual world

Virtual modelling played a pivotal role in the development process, allowing us simultaneously to engineer the compound and tread pattern. This ensured that both elements worked in harmony to achieve the desired performance. Virtual modelling enabled us to calculate precisely the distribution of physical stress across the tyre. The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 works uniformly across the entire contact patch, providing drivers with a range of benefits including reduced wear, noise, and rolling resistance. These advantages translate into increased mileage, improved ride comfort, lower fuel consumption, and reduced emissions.
