The first stop of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, sponsored by Pirelli (just like the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships, ed.), took place at St.Moritz in February 2017, 600 competitors from around 70 countries battled on the snow of Canton of Graubünden, in Switzerland.
There were two key ingredients for living the winter season On The Road and to the max: an Audi SQ7, a 435 CV diesel SUV, and Pirelli Scorpion Winter tyres, designed especially for high range cars and with the evolution of modern vehicles in mind to ensure maximum safety, control and performance in all conditions.
Setting off from the Pirelli Headquarters in Milan on the morning of before the opening were two authentic champions of winter in their respective fields.
Martina Valmassoi, one of the best alpine skiers in the world, a bronze medalist in the relay at the 2012 European Championships and winner of several Vertical Race competitions, and Antoine Truchet, a young Swiss photographer and filmmaker, a big fan of making adventurous trips, a snowboarder and someone who loves spending winter in the mountains.
170 km from Milan to St. Moritz via a dreary winter town, all the way to the snows of the Alps, enjoying maximum performance, the highest comfort and all the control needed on winter roads thanks to Scorpion Winter tyres, whose tread, with its geometric, sculpted pattern, enabled water to be expelled quickly and consistently, preventing the risk of aquaplaning and ensuring excellent grip on the mountain roads, where the rivulets of water could easily have proved a difficult obstacle, particularly given the low temperatures.
Breathtaking photos of the panoramic views were taken by Truchet during the On The Road experience, capturing all the emotions of St. Moritz.
