The top of Pirelli tyres for the track-made 911

Home Road Cars Supercars The top of Pirelli tyres for the track-made 911

This new 911 are great on the road, but they carry out a track spirit. This is the characteristic shared by the latest Porsche 911 GT3 and GT3 RS updates and the Pirelli tyres developed especially for them. Both the P Zero Trofeo R, in the first case, and the P Zero Trofeo RS, in the second, are products homologated for the road but which are at their best between the kerbs, guaranteeing performance and safety. Two tyres born from the close collaboration between Posche and Pirelli, which has led to excellent results: the German magazine Auto Bild Sportscars, after comparing different semi-slick road tyres on a 911 GT3 RS, declared the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS the best of all. A development path towards the Perfect Fit that has definitely been successful. In addition to these two tyres, there are two different P Zero Corsa tyres, each designed to fit one of the two cars, designed for Porsche road use.

THE TYRES FOR THE PORSCHE 911 GT3 RS…

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS posed several technical challenges in tyre development: the tyres had to enhance the car's characteristics, suitable for road driving but with performance close to that of a racing car, thanks to its extreme aerodynamics and light weight. Very different requirements, but met by the two dedicated Pirelli tyres, both in sizes 275/35R20 at the front and 335/30R21 at the rear. The P Zero Trofeo RS is a semi-slick designed for high performance on the circuit, the P Zero Corsa is geared more towards road use.

The P Zero Trofeo RS for the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has an even wider working range than the P Zero Trofeo R, and the credit for this goes mainly to the experience gained by Pirelli in the world's top motorsport series. The new tyre allows the car to be pushed to the limit on the track from the very first laps thanks to a fast warm-up capability that offers immediate grip, and withstands stress during the most demanding driving sessions thanks to its low degradation rate. This is thanks to a strengthened internal structure, which provides support even with significant aerodynamic loads, a tread pattern optimised through virtual simulation, and specially developed materials derived from an asphalt rally compound. In addition, the P Zero Trofeo RS allows safe driving even in the wet.

…AND FOR THE 911 GT3

The P Zero Trofeo R for the Porsche 911 GT3 also has its origins in the technologies and processes used in motorsport. It is an ever-evolving tyre that has reached the pinnacle of its development in the 911 GT3 RS version, which served as the basis for the design of the P Zero Trofeo RS for the 911 GT3 RS. Both the P Zero Trofeo R and the P Zero Corsa for the 911 GT3 are available in 255/35R20 and 315/30R21 sizes.
