Each August, the scenic strip of the Pacific Coast Highway that cuts through Monterey County takes a back seat to the must-see Monterey Car Week: the It-List event for luxury automotive brands and car enthusiasts to celebrate the heritage, design, and performance of the best of the best.
The event – which now goes well beyond just a week – is centered around The Pebble Beach Concours whose first iteration almost 50 years ago set the stage for what is now the most celebrated car event in the United States.
Today, thousands of classic car fans descend on the small California County each year to toast to vintage vehicles, custom designs and must-see innovations from brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Maserati, and more.
Pirelli can be found almost everywhere you look in Monterey, highlighting the design and importance of custom fit tires for many of the iconic dream cars along the scenic 17-mile drive.

Visitors to this year's events will mix and mingle their way through exciting car displays, milestone celebrations, heritage exhibitions and prominent awards. Iconic luxury anniversaries including the Ferrari Dino 246 GT and the Iso Lele 50th anniversary, De Tomaso turning 60 and Abarth marking its 70th year will be celebrated at events throughout the week.
The road in Monterey highlights the icons of the past, as well as the vision for the future. This year will feature a focus on innovation and design with multiple new cars debuting, all featuring Pirelli tires designed specifically for the new models. This includes Pagani's introduction of its new Huayra Roadster BC at The Quail, and Bentley's presentation of its EXP 100GT concept car for 2035, with special Pirelli intelligent tires.
Concorso Italiano & The Perfect Fit Award
La bella vita will come to life at the Concorso Italiano which showcases more than one thousand new and vintage Italian cars from luxury brands like, Lamborghini and Ferrari - many sporting custom Pirelli tires. Working with many of the world's luxury, sports and super car manufacturers, Pirelli tailor-makes tires for each and every model, ensuring the perfect fit to deliver the power, control and style for these iconic cars.
Pirelli will feature its Collezione tire range, a family of tires developed specifically for classic cars that combine modern technology with period style. To elegantly recreate and reengineer the tires for these vintage cars, Pirelli used the original archived design specs from the vehicle's engineers to ensure the perfect fit and seamless blend of vintage characteristics and modern-day performance. Using cutting edge compounds to offer maximum grip and water evacuation, the Pirelli tire range guarantees the highest standards of safety and dependability without compromising on looks.
As part of its presence at Concorso Italiano, Pirelli will host its inaugural Perfect Fit Awards. The award focuses on period correct tires designed to complement the style and enhance the performance of classic cars. A team from Pirelli will judge the cars that enter and announce a winner during a stage presentation at the Concorso Italiano on August 17th. The celebration also includes a donation to the Concorso Italiano Foundation, which supports the children of Jacob's Heart Children's Cancer Support Service.
