Huyara R Evo, the Pagani inspired by racing heritage

Pagani's new track-only hypercar is ready to race on Pirelli Motorsport tyres

It is a car that pushes "the boundaries of performance and emotion even further" in the words of Horacio Pagani, who recently presented the Huayra R Evo, the new open-top track hypercar that joins the line-up featured in the "Arte in Pista" events created by Pagani Automobili for its customers. "Arte in Pista" (Art on the Track) is an apt name for the programme of events during which the owners of some of the masterpieces made in the Atelier in San Cesario sul Panaro – such as the Huayra R, Zonda R, Zonda Revolución, alongside the new model –can unleash the horsepower of their cars under the guidance of professional drivers.

INSPIRED BY LE MANS

Why open-top? To feel the wind on your face and to better appreciate the sound of the naturally aspirated V12, just like the drivers of yesteryear. The inspiration for the design of the Huayra R Evo was drawn from racing heritage, reminiscent of the Formula Indy single-seaters and the long-tail cars that raced at Le Mans in the 1960s and 1970s. The result is a bold car with more power, better aerodynamic efficiency and higher braking performance than the Huayra R to match the performance of Le Mans Prototype 2 racing cars.

AERODYNAMIC BEAUTY

Every stroke of the Huayra R Evo is designed to maximise aerodynamic load in a quest for beauty that always goes hand in hand with functionality. The open top, contrary to expectations, results in a vertical load gain, both at the front and at the rear, increasing total downforce. The body is made of a special carbon fibre developed especially for the Pagani Utopia for a striking visual impact and improved structural performance while reducing the overall weight. At the heart of the Huayra R Evo is the Pagani V12-R Evo engine implementing racing-derived technology and offering exceptional performance, with a maximum power output of 900 hp at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 770 Nm.

P ZERO SLICKS FOR DRY AND WET CONDITIONS

Crucial for safely transferring all its power to the ground and supporting the huge dynamic loads are the tyres made by Pirelli Motorsport: P Zero Slicks in sizes 280/680 R19 at the front and 345/725 R20 at the rear. Developed in a virtual environment, these tyres offer the driver long-lasting control and precision even during the toughest sessions. Available in Dry and Wet versions, these P Zero tyres provide high traction and stable braking behaviour on tarmac. To put Art on the Track in all conditions.
