A dream which becomes reality. This is how the history of Pagani Automobili can be summarized. It all began in a bedroom in Casilda, Pampa Argentina, where a ten-year-old boy dreamed of his future by working balsa to shape model cars. It was born out of the curiosity of that child who, avid for reading, discovers Leonardo da Vinci and is fascinated by his possible dialogue between Art and Science.
BIRTH OF A MYTH
After moving from Argentina to what is now called Italy's Motor Valley and starting work as a worker at Lamborghini, Horacio Pagani decides it's time to start his own business. A creative workshop to create unique hypercars, with distinctive features and very high performance. From these bases the adventure began, in 1998, in San Cesario sul Panaro near Modena, founding Pagani Automobili.
PAGANI ZONDA AND HUAYRA
We start with the C8 project, the design signature of the Zonda: a car with a unique aesthetic with a front like that of a Formula 1, a very powerful central engine and manual gearbox. It is the consonant C that will mark the development of all the car company's models, a tribute to Horacio's wife, Cristina Elizabeth Perez, who shared everything with him: from the move to Italy to the start of the company.
After the success of the Zonda, we continue with the C9 project, the Pagani Huayra. A racing car with over 700 horsepower with tailor-made details that make each example a unique piece. The line is always very individual, designed as a wing that varies its angle of incidence via flaps according to needs, to choose the best aerodynamics.
THE LATEST CREATION: UTOPIA
The story continues to the present day with Pagani Utopia. It is the company's C10 project, coinciding with the first quarter of a century of activity of the Modena car manufacturer and inspired by the ingenuity of Leonardo da Vinci. The new car has a smoother, more fluid and sinuous shape than previous models, but the intention to create a timeless design object, as for Zonda and Huayra, remains unchanged. Power, performance and uniqueness always remain the distinctive features of this model too. Object of desire with handcrafted and exclusive components dedicated to each driver of the 99 units that will be produced.
AN EVOLVING COMPANY WITH SOLID FAMILY ROOTS
Since its origin, the situation has changed considerably: in 1999 the company was self-sufficient, with only 25 employees in total and a lot of work to do. Today Pagani Automobili, while remaining essentially a family-run business, is a company that has a complete managerial structure and 220 collaborators. Engineers specialized in all sectors, designers and highly qualified technicians occupy the "Art and Science" Research Centre, while the main factory hosts production. Producing 50 cars a year, it resembles a tailoring atelier more than an assembly line.In Pagani, beauty meets and resolves the great complications of mechanics, style becomes an aesthetic philosophy and the suggestions of those who want a Pagani become unique creative paths.
A LINK WITH PIRELLI
It is no coincidence, in fact, that Pirelli has a solid bond with Pagani by developing tailor-made tires from the P Zero family, the Ultra High Performance line, for every model that leaves the San Cesario sul Panaro factory.
This was demonstrated once again by the exhibition that celebrated the closing of this special year, which took place at the Turin Automobile Museum, where Pagani's splendid creations could be admired alongside the various tires developed specifically for every car model: from the first P Zero, to the P Zero HP, passing from the P Zero Corsa up to the latest one marked with the "P" of Pagani - the P Zero Trofeo RS - of the latest generation.
