How to Host Salon Privé

So, the challenge is set: Create, from scratch one might add, a garden party like no other. Salon Privé is a name synonymous with automotive adventure, classic style and a little touch of the je ne sais quoi. But it's not all fancy French words and impeccable lawn care. The ultimate British garden party was borne forth onto the supercar world stage by meticulous design to create a unique automotive ambience found only once a year at Blenheim Palace. Oh yes, there's also a Palace involved. We didn't mention that yet…
The setting, as you may well imagine, is incredibly important for a salubrious supercar celebration. And not just any agreeable or pleasant land will do to host an event of the calibre required. For this, the aforementioned Blenheim Palace provides a unique, rarified atmosphere soon to be inextricably infused with motoring history, luxury and style for three whole days. As we said, and in short, the setting is important.

So what's next on the shopping list? Well, what's likely to be the first thought on many guests' minds when arriving on the lawns at Salon Privé? Cars? No, not yet. We'll get to that… The answer can be summed up in one all-encompassing and promising word. Hospitality. Food and, most definitely, drink. Necessity dictates that at least one four-wheeled vehicle entering Blenheim Palace will unfortunately not be a marvel. And that would be a truck delivering, as they do, a truckload of champagne. While it may not be stylish, may not have scintillating performance statistics and may not have a price tag which would comfortably sit amongst listings in the London housing market, the guests will be no less pleased to see it! 

So with the hospitality sorted out, and we're sure a rather nice catering company can help with the Lobster Luncheon as the champagne problem is solved, where do we turn to next? 

Cars? Nope. Fashion. That's right; no classic car event is complete without the correct attire. And for the greatest Concours in the United Kingdom, you need boutique after boutique selling the finest watches, dresses and suits money can buy. Set in a series of trendy “pop-up” marquees, guests who wish to take a break from the incredible cars on display and indulge in a little retail therapy will be well equipped to do so.

So with the venue, catering and shopping all locked down it's finally time for the main event. Classic cars, sensational supercars and ultra-rare hypercars. 

Beginning as is only proper with the classics, in establishing a true landmark event you need an internationally revered Concours. In the case of Salon Privé, we're talking about the Chubb Insurance Concours d'Elégance. This annual journey back in time sees some of the most prestigious and rare cars in existence brought together on the lawns of Blenheim Palace from all four corners of the globe. This fleeting expression of exquisite motoring history is to be admired and enjoyed while it lasts. We'll raise a glass to that! 
With the crown jewel in place, we can turn to the next key component. And what a component it is! Modern supercars. The world's greatest manufacturers put their latest and greatest expressions of supercar style and performance front and centre. Where else could you walk between Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani and Porsche displays before enjoying another glass of Champagne? Well, that is if you don't wish to test drive any. 

So, in short, what does it take to create Salon Privé? In truth, the event is even more than the sum of its admittedly awesome parts. From great food, stunning motoring rarities and game-changing hypercars, to high fashion and beautiful surroundings, there's only one way to get the full Salon Privé experience - by experiencing it!
