Pirelli's cycling range has been extended with two exciting new tyres specifically developed for road bikes: P Zero Race TLR, an all-rounder for competition and training, and P Zero Race TLR SL, which was specifically created for those looking for the ultimate in performance.
P Zero Race, the tubeless tyre developed with the best in the world
Three years after Pirelli's return to the world of cycling with the P Zero Velo, Pirelli completes its line-up with two new tubeless-ready road bike tyres, which are the lightest ever produced by the Italian firm. This expands the current P Zero Velo range dedicated to high-performance cycling.
As a world leader when it comes to races on both two and four wheels, with know-how that comes directly from competition at the highest level, Pirelli has developed its new tubeless ready P Zero Race in collaboration with two of the best-known World Tour cycling teams.
The first team is Mitchelton-Scott, which includes road bike champion Annemiek Van Vleuten in its line-up. Pirelli's partnership with Mitchelton-Scott dates back to 2018, having been announced during the French Grand Prix in Formula 1. To celebrate the new collaboration, cyclist Simon Yates rode a celebration lap of the Paul Ricard circuit on Pirelli's new bike tyres, shortly before the F1 race got underway.
The second World Tour team is Trek-Segafredo, which runs reigning world champion Mads Petersen, as well as Italian cyclist Vincenzo Nibali.
The technical characteristics
The P Zero Race TLR is an all-round tyre, usable throughout every season, with its structure reinforced by TechWALL+ technology. The P Zero Race TLR SL, the lightest tyre ever made by Pirelli, is instead all about pure performance, offering optimal grip and road-holding thanks to its tubeless technology.
Under pressure
The new tubeless-ready P Zero was only born after more than three years of research and two years of road testing to achieve the desired results. The new tyres were designed and tested by Pirelli using a wide range of modern rims, giving the cyclist a unique feeling of being at one with the bike.
To ensure optimal performance even with different wheel sizes, Pirelli also supplies recommended tyre pressures, as well as information about how to match tyres with wheels, plus tips on riding styles and riding during each season. The new P Zero Race tyres are made with Pirelli's ground-breaking SmartEVO compound, created using three different polymers to guarantee a perfect balance. This combination puts the accent on performance while decreasing rolling resistance and increasing dry grip. Not just that, but riding comfort is improved as well. Making the P Zero Race a real star in the world of cycling.
