Ferrari Challenge 2025: Monza sparks competition

Hard-fought races, spring-like weather, grandstands and paddocks packed with enthusiasts. These were the highlights that characterised the weekend of 27th-30th March at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza racetrack, where the seasonal opener of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe 2025 was celebrated, now in its 33rd edition.

Following Friday's practice sessions, the jam-packed weekend saw 72 drivers, hailing from 22 different countries, battle it out on Saturday and Sunday for the coveted trophies on offer.

On Saturday, Gilles Renmans of Francorchamps Motors Brussels secured victory in the Trofeo Pirelli, while Fabrizio Fontana of Formula Racing triumphed in the Coppa Shell. In the Coppa Shell Am, Boris Gideon (Autohaus Ulrich) emerged victorious, while Andrew Morrow (Charles Hurst) claimed the top spot on the podium in the Trofeo Pirelli Am.

On Sunday, Gideon repeated his success in the Coppa Shell AM, while American driver Dylan Medler of The Collection won the Trofeo Pirelli. The Trofeo Pirelli AM victory went to Dutchman Michael Verhagen of Ferrari Warszawa, and the Coppa Shell was won by Swede Christian Kinch of Formula Racing.

Divided into 2 continental series – Europe and North America – and three Regional (UK, Japan and Australasia), the Ferrari Challenge is structured into four main categories (Trofeo Pirelli, Trofeo Pirelli Am, Coppa Shell, and Coppa Shell Am) based on the drivers' level of competitiveness, which can range from gentleman drivers to promising young motorsport talents. Many champions have risen through the ranks of the Ferrari one-make series, most recently Nicklas Nielsen, who won the series in 2018 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024.

The next appointment for the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe 2025 is at Misano, on the weekend of 10th-13th April.
