While the circuits worldwide are quiet, new digital championships are being created and new players are joining every day. Dallara, a company firmly rooted in motorsports, has partnered up with AK Informatica to launch a trophy of its own. Of course, the race car is the coupé version of the Stradale, the multi-purpose "barchetta" engineered at the behest of Dallara to provide the best driving experience ever. If carrying this car over to the virtual world appears as a bit of a paradox given its nature, everything is easily explained by the Italian company's strong bonds to virtual automotive development. Dallara has installed two of the most advanced driving simulators in the world, which are used to design racing cars and street-legal models for some of the most prestigious brands, in the company offices in Varano de' Melegari and Indianapolis.
SEEKING REAL TALENTS
The Dallara Esports Championship consists of five races on international circuits (Mugello, Imola, Brands Hatch, Spa-Francorchamps). The three best drivers will win a training experience opportunity in the company. Participation is free but all players are asked to make a donation, which will be given entirely to Parma Hospital and the Bergamo Health Board. All races will be held on the Racing Setup platform of driving software development leader Kunos Simulazioni and will be broadcast online.
DEDICATION TO RACING, REAL-LIFE AND VIRTUAL
"Dallara has been contributing to the evolution of eSports for some time by providing the numerical models of the cars we have developed", explained Andrea Pontremoli, CEO and General Manager of Dallara Group. The brand created by Giampaolo Dallara has been operating in motorsports since the late 1970s, mainly in the Formula categories, up to F1, and is the sole supplier of cars in major championships, such as IndyCar. It has also played a leading role in rallies and today continues to compete in several trophies. Including the virtual ones.
