Andrea Bocelli is celebrated as the most elevated expression of Italian singing by fans worldwide. His tone, as recognisable as a signature, plays from over eighty million records. His voice effortlessly spans from "Bel Canto" to "Verismo".
In this interview, Bocelli reveals something more about himself, like his positivity, hopes and perseverance, and his determination to support charities operating in the areas of scientific research, fighting poverty and promoting primary education.
Embodying these values, Bocelli has tied his name and commitment to major philanthropic events and to supporting people in disadvantaged situations since the 1990s. The “Andrea Bocelli Foundation” was founded in 2011 with the objective of empowering people in distress due to illness, disabilities, poverty and social exclusion by promoting and supporting national and international projects that promote the overcoming of these barriers.
Bocelli also spoke about his self-discipline: “There is self-discipline in everything, in sport, in football and in music”, he explained. “The world is rapidly changing but some things remain the same, like the fact that there is no gain without effort and self-sacrifice", he added quoting Pythagoras: “Adopt good habits, time will make them pleasant”.
