Pirelli obtains Maximum rating on J.D. Power

Pirelli has been recognized for the seventh time by J.D. Power and Associates Institute (USA) in relation to the performance of the Original Equipment (OE)’s products.

The Pirelli’s highest position in the ranking has been achieved by offering “the best OE’S tyre in the consumers’ opinion of segment SUV and truck” (approx. 27,000 people were interviewed).

The presence of Pirelli in models like Ford F-150, Ford Expedition, Lincoln Navigator and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class indicates that major automakers segment trust on these tyres, which are partly produced in factories in Campinas (Sao Paulo) and Feira de Santana (BAHIA).

The result reinforces that Pirelli remains above average, with consumers’ purchase intent even greater.

Congratulations to all employees who are part of the Pirelli Group and, in particular, to the teams of Campinas and Feira de Santana, by direct participation in this recognition!

Pirelli Suppliers Award 2013

Our top suppliers received their awards at Bicocca today (10 April). Nine international companies that represent the best in the fields in which they operate, and are partners of fundamental importance to us. Quality, innovation, global presence, rapidity, sustainability, level of service: those are our criteria for evaluation. As our chairman Marco Tronchetti Provera pointed out when he spoke at the ceremony, “We owe part of our success to our partners throughout the world”.

At the moment, about 12,000 companies work with us: they include those who provide our raw materials, printing, energy, IT solutions and many more goods and services. Selected on the basis of stringent criteria of compatibility with our way of doing business, characterised by product innovation and quality, is an ample and complex range of nine award winners who today represent absolute excellence. Our sincere wish is to find the same partners at next year’s awards ceremony, a sign of long-lasting collaboration destined to continue over time.

PIRELLI’S 2013-2017 INDUSTRIAL PLAN WILL BE PRESENTED IN NOVEMBER

The decision was taken in order to provide better visibility on the medium-long term context of reference

Pirelli announces that the presentation of the 2013-2017 Industrial Plan, initially scheduled for May 8th, 2013, will take place in November of 2013, following the presentation of the results for the nine months ending September 30th, 2013. The decision was taken to provide better visibility on the context of reference and enable the preparation of coherent medium-to-long term forecasts, taking into account that the macro-economic and business context in which Pirelli operates is in significant and continuous evolution, more markedly so in recent times.

In rapidly developing markets and the United States, in particular, Premium demand is growing at a rate around three times faster than that of global demand for car tyres. In Europe, on the other hand, the persisting economic crisis is having a clear impact on consumption and therefore on the demand for tyres, even Premium ones.

In such a context, at the European market level, Pirelli is carrying out a significant review of its commercial structures. This entails, among other things, a growing integration of high-end European production capacity with the markets that present the greatest demand for Premium products.

The 2013 targets, announced to the market on March 11th, 2013, with the presentation of the 2012 results, remain unchanged.
