Victory with zero emission
Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas have won the first international competition for electrically propelled motorcycles, organised by the International Motorcycle Federation (IMF). The victory was scored on 26 September at Italy’s Imola motor racing circuit, where over 70,000 spectators, who were there to watch the 12th round in the World Superbike Championship, saw the e-Power race won by Tuscan rider Tommaso Betti on a bike he built himself, the Betti Moto.
“It was a historic championship”, said Betti. “We improved the bike with every race, which took us to victory. We would like to thank Pirelli for its especially valuable technical support”.
“The Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas are noted for their optimum grip and even wear, which are fundamental to motorcycles with electric motors that generate full power right from the start”, added Giorgio Barbier, racing director of Pirelli Moto. The e-Power championship gave us a glimpse of new opportunities in ‘sustainable’ competition, where the investment in innovative technology – especially in the field of electric motorbikes – continually changes the competitiveness of the teams”.
